Magnificent Grass Lily is a perennial herb, 30-50
cm tall. Stems are branched, unlike the closely similar
Indian Grass Lily. Leaves are
linear-lanceshaped. Flowers are dark brownish-purple, carried on long
stalks. A distinguishing feature of this species is that stamen
filaments are hairless. Capsules are ellipsoid-oblong, many seeded.
Magnificent Grass Lily is endemic to Maharashtra and Karnataka,
